We've had a big dump of snow today. So, Finley and I packed up, wrapped up and went for a walk to Capilano Mall and the book store. Normally, this wouldn't be such a big deal. Walking in the snow with a stroller (particularly up hill), is a bit different. I got a good workout it. It was sunny, beautiful, and I loved being outdoors. It looks like Finley liked it not too badly himself.

Finley and friends
We had a playdate last Friday. There were 11 babies and moms in total. It made for an interesting, lively and noisy afternoon. Th kids were pretty darn cute.

I want that camera
Finley is starting to get into everything! A few keys from the computer keyboard were missing today until Dwight put them back together.
Save That Child
Our moms group got together to take an infant cpr course. It was probably more of a social gathering more than an informational one, but we learned a few things nonetheless.
Swimming Lessons
I've signed up Finley for some swimming lessons... probably for our amusement more than his. He looks really cute in the orange swim trunks! He's a pretty shy guy and likes to just take in his surroundings and chill. He's definitely more of an observer. But from what I can tell (he hasn't complained so far), he's enjoying the experience and its another good excuse to get us out of the house.

Happy 6 Months Old!
January 10, 2008 - Finley is officially 1/2 year old. I can't believe the time has gone by so quickly. He is growing into quite the character and becoming more fun and interactive... and also more and more curious! We celebrated with a little dessert - Happy 1/2 Birthday buddy!

Chesterman Beach
This beach was a minute's walk from the B&B we stayed at. It was cold, windy and rainy - perfect for storm watching
Our Journey
On the way to Tofino, we had rain the whole way - even through the mountain passes. The way back was a different story with fresh snow everywhere. And it was slippery. Thank goodness Dwight knows how to drive in the snow. We made it home in one piece.
Cathedral Grove
On our way back home from Tofino, we stopped in at Cathedral Grove to see the giant West Coast trees. It has just stopped snowing and the sun came out. It was a beautiful stroll in the forest.

On Being Stuck
I can see why bumper pads were so popular until recent warnings about their potential danger. We sometimes leave Finley in his crib for playtime or to have him in a safe place while we shower or do other things quickly. And occasionally, when we go in to get him, we realize just how mobile he's becoming... and that it was a good thing we put him in the crib while being left briefly unattended!
Finley & santy claus
Friends Judy and Carlos hosted a Christmas party for kids. Finley had his photo taken with Santa Claus, who magically appeared from the back door!
Happy New Year!!
We had plans to celebrate New Years with friends, then they were cancelled due to some serious illnesses going around - and then they were on again, just a slight change in attendees. It was a nice quiet gathering and what was meant to be an early quiet evening, turned in to a late fun small party. Thanks Stacey and Stephen!
